This spot is definitely a gem of SD. It was the best banh cuon I've ever had. I got the special number 1 with the shrimp and egg rice rolls. The rolls were served a bit warm and soft unlike the other banh cuon places. The dipping fish sauce on the side was warm with minced chili. Portion was generous enough to share. You ordered the food then get your table and they'll bring it to you. Make sure to also try their coffee, I tried the egg coffee and the coconut both were very good. I wish this place was in oc too ... now it's a must visit spot when I'm in sd. This place definitely smokes Luu Luyen in oc.

I always like this place. Been here several times and my family, especially my mom who is picky and a tough critic , said it's authentic. Great service and price too. Thank you!

I first discovered Thien Huong 1-2 years ago via IG and when I came for lunch, and it did not disappoint! I love their Banh Cuon. If you like cheung fun (steamed rice noodle rolls) at dim sum, you will love this too. They have the same rice noodle wrapping on the outside. It feels fairly light but was still filling for me which was great. Have brought multiple people here who have since introduced it to others as well! It's delicious and inexpensive, and definitely worth the visit. Service is nice and with the indoor seating, it's a good catch up spot with friends/family. I almost want to gatekeep because I'm afraid it'll get super busy, but it's worth sharing about to support their business. :)

Now I knew this place HAD to be good when you gotta sign up to be on a waitlist outside the door! Small gem /hole in the wall. Great parking and food comes fast after ordering !! This place is sooo good !!! Must try if you're reading this wondering about it !

I've been here a few times and really enjoy this place. The menu is pretty limited but everything is delicious. Plan to come a bit earlier because this place usually gets full around 11 on weekends. Food comes out pretty quickly and portion sizes are reasonable. This place is definitely worth checking out for Vietnamese breakfast.

This is my second time to try out this restaurant and it is much better than my first experience. We had a Chao 1 and a Special 2, both of them are delicious. The service is nice and friendly. The store is not big but very clean. This restaurant is from the owner's family recipe, it is unique and exclusive. You should come to try it out.

So my friends were like meh, but they tasted mine and said it was the best of the 3- #8 the shrimp filled rice rolls - it had the same onion sprinkles as the #7 onion sprinkles but with more flavor and filling. Definitely better than #6 with egg because the egg in that one is not scrambled- it's mixed in with the rice flour to make the rolls look yellow. Also they drank Ca phe sua da which was good but I ordered the passionfruit tea which was delicious! It was very sweet though, so after some sips, I added more water. The passionfruit seeds were crunchy and fresh and the passion-flavor was strong and the drink was very fragrant. Loved my brunch!

I've been here 3 times already. First time was take out only. I ordered the rice rolls with pork (comes with the bean sprouts and greens fixings) + meatloaf for $60? It fed a party of 10+. very much worth it in my opinion. 2nd time we went to dine in just party of 2. Got a combo and a rice roll dish (my personal fave). Simple and hits the spot every time. My hubby wanted to try the combo, very interesting! It was a sweet, slightly tangy dippable sauce. I love pate so this alone is full thumbs up! Service is QUICK! They bring out food so fast and it's always fresh and hot. The tables are always clean too. They always bring you water to start. Napkins on the table. 3rd time brought family to try it and they also liked it!

What a gem we found in SD! This is a great place for breakfast and lunch. We went on a Monday morning and was not crowded, but I heard that they get really busy on the weekends. We had the pork rice rolls. They are so soft, sticky, and light, nothing we ever had in New York. It came with a sweet sauce that complimented with the rice roll. Then, the Chao with the banquet was perfect for breakfast. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Our ice coffees were perfectly sweetened and just the right amount of bitterness. Service was fast and efficient. Staff were nice and always smiling. Really hope Vietnamese food is as good as one in California. Nothing can compare to this food in New York. Would definitely come back when we are back in town.

Saturday 2024/03/30 12:30 - my first time trying Vietnamese breakfast foods! - staff was really friendly; they let me sit down first while I was waiting for my friend to arrive - order at the cashier then sit down at a table - we dined in as a party of 2 Special 2 ($16.50): 2 types of bánh cuốn (steamed rice rolls) (1 filled with ground pork and egg, 1 filled ground shrimp), topped with fried onions and served with steamed bean sprout, cucumber, cilantro, fish sauce, meatloaf, tofu, and some kind of cut-up fried bread - huge plate of food with lots of variety - everything tasted fresh and light - ground pork filling had a sweet soy sauce flavor, I liked it better than the shrimp rolls - ground shrimp filling seemed like it was made with dried shrimp based on the orange color and flavor - compared to Chinese rice rolls, these were smaller with thinner skin - fried bread was really tasty; texture was crunchy on the outside and dense inside, speckled with what looked like mung beans Chao 2 ($16.99): "Eggs, Fried Meatloaf, Meatball and Hotdog," served in a tomato-based sauce and with a Vietnamese baguette on the side - tomato-based sauce was delicious and we ended up dipping food from the Special 2 into it as well - eggs were perfectly sunny side up - Vietnamese baguette was crunchy outside and very fluffy inside, although I noticed the bread dried out very quickly - meatball was really tender and flavorful, not sure if it was beef or pork Egg Coffee ($5.75): Vietnamese coffee latte topped with a sweet custard cream - coffee itself tasted very strong and paired well with the sweetness of the cream - our drinks came with cute faces on the top covering!
